It was a most uplifting experience to attend the Chard Together event held at the Guildhall in Chard. More than 800 people from the local community attended the event to celebrate the rich diverse cultures of Chard. The event was organised by local volunteers, with support from the Community Council of Somerset. It succeeded in bringing the community together to encourage intercultural dialogue through music, dance, storytelling, family workshops and the sharing of food. There were a multitude of performances: Latisha leading an African Caribbean workshop, Sedef performing eastern European Hora dancing, performances from Krystian Polanski the Polish beatboxing champion, and international award winning trumpet player Luis Martelo!  The children from Manor Court Primary School and Avishayes Primary School captivated everyone with their songs and dance.
