It was with deep sorrow, that Buckingham Palace announced the death of Her Royal Highness, The Duchess of Kent, at the age of 92.
Her Royal Highness passed away peacefully on Thursday 4th September 2025, at Kensington Palace, surrounded by her family.
The Lord-Lieutenant of Somerset, Mr Mohammed Saddiq said “We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of HRH The Duchess of Kent. Throughout her life she gave tirelessly to charitable causes and devoted herself to supporting young people, particularly through her passion for music. Her kindness, warmth, and commitment have touched countless lives and will leave a legacy of inspiration.”
