The Lord Lieutenant’s Community Carol service was held in Weston- Super- Mare on Wednesday 4th December. Many thanks to the Revd Craig Phibrick and the congregation of St Paul’s, Walliscote Rd for hosting the service which was attended by representatives of many local organisations and other faiths as we celebrated both the spirit of Christmas and the community of Weston-super- Mare. We explored the Christmas story in readings and song and remembered the importance of love and care, welcome, joy and hope in dark times, saluting the work of Somewhere to Go, a local charity which provides support for the vulnerable, disadvantaged and homeless.
Special thanks to the choir of Walliscote Primary School and their headteacher Shelley Flanagan NPQH FCCT and to all the musicians. Thanks to all those who came – lovely to reconnect with old friends and to make new ones. Thank you Weston-super- Mare.
