On July 11th the Lord-Lieutenant of Somerset, Mr Mohammed Saddiq joined The Britain-Australia Society Education Trust (BASET) and the Britain-Australia Society (BES) in Sydney Gardens, Bath, at the unveiling of a memorial commemorating the 200th year anniversary of the death of Admiral Arthur Phillip. Admiral Phillip is recognised as the founder of modern Australia. He retired to Bath where he died and is buried at the nearby St Nichols Church in Bathampton.
