Last week saw the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe and members of the Lieutenancy were out in force, supporting community events as Somerset residents gathered to commemorate and celebrate 80 years since the end of the Second World War in Europe.
Across the county, flags were raised, bells were rung and beacons were lit. The Lord-Lieutenant, Vice Lord-Lieutenant and Deputy Lieutenants attended both poignant Services and cheerful street parties to mark this historic occasion.
