The Lord-Lieutenant of Somerset, Mr Mohammed Saddiq recently welcomed HM The Queen to Police Head Quarters in Portishead where efforts by the constabulary to tackle both domestic abuse and sexual violence. During the visit HM The queen was met by both the Chief Constable and Supt Sharon Baker, herself a survivor of Domestic Abuse. Her Majesty then went on a tour of the HQ, where she was shown the Police Control response room and joined in a discussion with emergency call handlers who had been involved in receiving domestic abuse calls. Before leaving, Her Majesty also spoke with the latest A&S Constabulary Police recruits.
